We have 2 speakers lined up, the first is Don Ward, Chief Executive of Constructing Excellence. Don has over twenty years' experience of best practice in the construction industry, specialising in industry change, supply chain integration and collaborative working.
Over the last thirteen years he has become one of the leading figures of the UK construction industry reform movement. He was Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Board, Design Build Foundation and BE before his current role with Constructing Excellence. As Chief Executive of the Construction Industry Board, he worked with Sir Michael Latham, UK industry's representative bodies and other stakeholders to implement the 1994 'Latham Report' and latterly the 1998 'Egan Report'.
Don is going to speak to us on "The effect of the Recession on Partnering in the Construction Sector." Don's insight will no doubt be valuable and stimulating.
Our second speaker is Richard White of Pro Excellence Ltd. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management (1989) and is a member of the Institute of Sales and Marketing Management. For the 5 years prior to founding Pro Excellence in 2002, Richard combined consulting with developing major accounts for SECOR Consulting, the UK’s leading independent Customer Management Consultancy. Earlier in his sales career Richard struggled with and overcame sales reluctance and now uses this knowledge to help sales people and business developers to do the same.
Richard is passionate about accelerated learning and the mental game of selling. He is a regular writer and speaker on the use of storytelling and metaphor in business development. Richard divides his time between developing Pro Excellence, coaching and mentoring sales managers, and acting as a part-time sales manager for smaller businesses.
Richard will be chairing an interactive session to help attendees hone communication skills. Whether you are involved in the external sales process or not, these techniques are transferable to getting 'buy-in' from colleagues and communicating with other stakeholders in your business.
The event is limited to 30 places, so please ensure that you book early.
